“The vastness of the universe will never fit within the human mind… yet mankind will never cease trying.”
Millions of galaxies and silences
burned behind black structures,
like stars searching for the fissures
within ancient and diminutive thoughts.
Each quadrant seemed a prison,
a fragment of the cosmos held still,
like an immense and contained ocean
within an impossible dimension.
They were not lines… they were barriers
raised fearfully by the mind
to imprison entire eternities.
And infinity, luminous creature,
struck against fleeting forms
like a god trapped beneath the stone.
Colors flowed like rivers,
overflowing logic and time,
while blackness, vast firmament,
devoured universes and voids.
It was man attempting to comprehend
the eternal, the absolute, and the impossible,
without accepting how inconceivable it is
that infinity could ever obey.
For the cosmos cannot fit within memory,
nor does eternity sleep within reason;
there is too much light in creation
to remain captive to history.
