"In darkness and storm, I believed I saw the end; but the butterfly came to remind me that there was still light left for my life."
In the cruel half-light of my agony,
when my body trembled slowly,
and death coldly brushed against
the deepest corners of my life,
There appeared, silent and aflame,
a golden butterfly before me;
it descended upon my wounded back
like a whisper born from the garden.
I thought it was a sign of the abyss,
the silent shadow of departure,
the final reflection of destiny
slowly opening the way out.
But its wings spoke in secret
with an ancient and transparent language;
and in the midst of pain, dark and still,
they left a light upon my brow.
Then I understood, beneath the shadow,
that not every visitor brings sorrow;
for there are creatures the night invokes
to save the heart from despair.
And that butterfly among the darkness
did not come to lead me into oblivion,
it came to tell me — in a voice barely certain —
that everything would be alright… and I would remain alive.
